How Much Does Zendesk Cost? A 2026 Pricing Breakdown

Card showing $55 per agent per month, the cheapest Zendesk plan with live chat, billed annually.

Zendesk's pricing page leads with $19 a month. That figure is accurate for one plan, and most teams comparing help desks end up on a different one. Zendesk prices per agent, splits ticketing from messaging, and bills AI and several add-ons on top. If you are trying to budget for Zendesk in 2026, here is how the pieces fit together.

Support Team or the Suite

Zendesk sells two kinds of plan. Support Team is the ticketing plan: email tickets, routing, macros, automations and prebuilt dashboards. The Suite plans add messaging and live chat, a knowledge base, voice and AI agents, all in one per-agent price.

Plan Per agent / mo, billed annually Per agent / mo, billed monthly
Support Team $19 $25
Suite Team $55 $69
Suite Professional $115 $149
Suite Enterprise Contact sales Contact sales

The $19 headline is Support Team, and live chat and a help center are not part of it. The cheapest plan with both is Suite Team at $55 per agent. Paying month to month costs more on every plan; Zendesk advertises the annual discount as 20%.

There is no free plan. Zendesk offers a 14-day trial, which gives you Suite Professional features by default.

AI agents: included, then billed by resolution

Zendesk's pricing page says its AI agents "are included in every Suite and Support plan, with pricing based on the successful outcomes they deliver." Included here means a monthly allowance.

The plan comparison table on the pricing page sets it out. Support Team and Suite Team include 5 automated resolutions per agent each month, Suite Professional 10 and Suite Enterprise 15. Beyond that, every plan charges $1.50 per automated resolution when you commit to a volume in advance, or $2.00 pay-as-you-go.

What counts as a resolution is narrower than the word suggests. Zendesk bills only for requests "successfully resolved by the AI agent, without any escalation to a human agent." If one of your agents steps in, the conversation does not bill. That is a tighter meter than Intercom's, which bills some handoffs and counts a customer who simply leaves as resolved.

One caution before you budget from that table. Zendesk's help center describes a newer model, introduced May 18, 2026, that replaces resolution counts with a dollar allowance per agent seat: $2 a month on Suite Team, $5 on Suite Professional and $10 on Suite Enterprise. It sorts AI conversations into tiers, and only a verified resolution draws on the allowance; assisted escalations and contained resolutions do not. The help center uses placeholder prices for that model, so ask sales which model your account will be on and get the rate in writing.

The add-ons that move the floor

"Starts at $19" is a floor. These are priced per agent, per month, billed annually:

  • Copilot, the assistant for your own agents: $50
  • Workforce Engagement Bundle, for scheduling and quality management: $50
  • Contact Center: $83

Copilot is the one most teams notice. It is agent-facing, which makes it a separate product from the AI agents above that answer customers, and at $50 it costs nearly as much as a Suite Team seat.

What a five-person team pays

Five agents, annual billing, on the cheapest plan that includes live chat:

  • Seats: 5 × $55 = $275/mo on Suite Team
  • Copilot for all five: 5 × $50 = $250/mo
  • Running total: $525/mo, before AI resolutions beyond the 25 included, and before Contact Center or workforce tools

Without Copilot, the same team pays $275/mo for seats. On Suite Professional it is $575/mo. If email tickets are all you need, Support Team brings seats down to $95/mo, without chat or a help center.

For the AI line, five Suite Team agents include 25 automated resolutions a month. Every 100 beyond that adds $150 committed or $200 pay-as-you-go. A team whose AI resolves 300 conversations a month would pay about $413 to $550 on top of seats, fewer if some of those conversations end with a person.

Is it worth it?

For a team handling high ticket volume across email, chat and phone, with a dedicated support function and time to negotiate, Zendesk's routing, reporting and channel coverage are hard to match. Its AI meter also counts only conversations that never reached a person, which narrows what you pay for.

The math is harder for small teams, and the reason sits in the seat table before AI enters it. Live chat and a help center start at $55 per agent, and the bill scales with every person you add. If you are weighing Zendesk against the other big name, we compared the two in Intercom vs Zendesk. If you are looking at lighter tools, we keep a list of alternatives to Zendesk for smaller teams.

One of those alternatives is Pavior, which we built. It is priced per plan rather than per agent: $0, $25 and $99 a month. The free tier gives a two-person team every feature, including live chat, CRM, help center, session replay and campaigns. Economy covers four seats at $25, so a fifth person moves you to the $99 plan, which covers ten. That is a cliff, and it sits in our pricing the same way per-agent steps sit in Zendesk's.
